Peace from God, Christ is Born!

Dear brothers and sisters, we are

approaching another one happiest holiday of all! We are getting ready to celebrate the most blessed and most shiny day of the year, the day when the Jesus Christ was born. He has come to this world just to be sacrificed for human sins. However, many did recognize Him as God Son and did not requested miracles to be performed just to convince them. As holly scriptures says, those who recognized Him also gifted Him with many gifts of  greatest value: love and peace. Today we can continue the legacy of those true believers and continue their path of charity and kindness. Christmas is exactly that, a holiday that cherish love, peace, and unity.

I am very pleased and happy to look at the year behind us as it was marked with unity and kindness in our parish. We all need to lift our heads high and be proud on everything done in this year when it comes to the renovations and general care about our holly mother church and our parish. Even we are one of the smallest parishes we come as united and completed some very big tasks heading toward the same goal. That goal is to preserve and keep everything that we have so far. That goal has to be our shiny Bethlehem star and guide to keep our orthodox faith, unity of our church and family.

Unfortunately, we are witnessing attacks on our families, church and orthodox faith daily. In those days of backward moral values many are attacking everything that one Christian family stands for and only united around our holly church we can sustain and save our children of immorality this world is heading to.

At the end I want to say one big thank to all of you for your unselfish help, support, and encouragement. I am certain that year ahead will bring even more unity to our small parish. I pray and hope that year ahead will bring nothing but peace and love to all!

Мир Божији, Христос се роди!

Драга браћо и сестре ближи нам се најрадоснији празник међу празницима, најсвијетлији дан у години, дан када се роди Исус Христос! Христ, Бог Син, који се оваплотио од Духа Светога и Марије Дијеве и постао човјек, како се каже у светој молитви. Роди се да би био погребен и страдао за спасење људског рода. Многи су Његову божанску нарав одмах препознали и нису тражили од Њега да чини чуда да им докаже да он стварно бијеше Син Божији. Како се у светим богослужбеним књигама каже, они који Га одма препознаше дошли су приносећи по нешто Господу. Тако и ми данас можемо и морамо да наставимо тај пут доброчинства према Господу пре свега нашом слогом, љубављу, и бригом једних према другима. Овај најрадоснији празник је управо празник љубави, мира, породице и свих нас заједно.Мени је драго да је година иза нас била управо проткана нашом добротом, бригом, и подвижништвом да помогнемо нашој мајци цркви. Треабмо да будемо поносни на све оно до сада што је урађено на уређењу и бриги о нашој парихији. Иако смо веома мала парохија мени је драго да смо протеклих годину дана провели у слози и једном великом заједничком циљу. Циљу да сачувамо, унапредимо и његујемо ово што смо до сада градили. Тај циљ треба да нам буде звијезда водиља у години испред нас. Као што је витлејемска звијезда те свете ноћи обасјала пут мудрацима са истока да нађу Богомладенца тако и нама наша света мајка црква треба да буде водиља да сачувамо чистоћу наше вјере православне, наш нацинални идентитет, и да генерацијама које долазе уткамо љубав према свему ономе за шта су се генерације пре нас бориле. Посебно ми у расељењу морамо се борити за очување свијести о вјерској и националној припадности. Све наше приватне интересе морамо да ускладимо са идејом очувања и изградње јединства. Нажалост црква и породица, као главни ослон нашег постојања , данас трпе нападе времена пољуљаног морала и измијењеног система вриједности. Једино сложни и обједињени око наше свете мајке цркве можемо да опстанемо и одупремо се посусталом свијету. За крај желим да се захвалим свима вама који сте се несебично одазвали на сваки позив помоћи вашој мајци цркви. Ја сам сигуран да година која долази ће још више продубити ту нашу слогу и жељу да градимо и сачивамо наше Светосавље. Молимо се Богомладенцу Христу да међу људима влада мир и љубав!

Our dear students, dear parents, and dear parishioners of St George Church,

We would like to send you the most blessed and joyful wishes for the upcoming holidays!

Christmas is the time when we celebrate one of the biggest Gifts ever given to us.

Jesus Christ was given to us to preach about most valuable life lessons. He though us about love and purity of innocent heart. It is up to us to continue His word and multiply it by teaching our children those same values.

This school year we are primarily working on introduction and history of our Serbian alphabet, our culture, tradition, and rich history. Glory to God we have plethora of material to cover and sometimes it is a problem, nice to have, to decide what story to tell our kids, what custom to present to them, or which region of Serbia to introduce them to. We are also very happy and blessed that in the coming days, led by Mrs. Maria Meyer and Elizabeth Thomas, we will also include religion classes in our school curriculum. We are certain that those classes will be tremendous help to our children to learn and understand the meaning of our Orthodox faith. However, all those activities and our effort would be in vain if you, our dear parents, were not standing behind us.

Thank you all for your continuous support, encouragement, and willingness to keep bringing your children to our church school. Our greatest and most valuable gift are all of those smiles and hugs we receive from your children.

Драги наши ђаци, драги родитељи, драги парохијани цркве Светог Ђорђа, примите најискреније честитке за предстојеће најрадосније празнике!

Божић је доба када славимо нјавећи Поклон који је икада дат људима. Исус Христос је дошао на овај свијет да људима пренесе највеће знање, знање чистог срца и неизмијерне љубави према свима. На нама је данас да то Његово предање умножимо и утемељимо још више преносећи га нашем потомству.

Ми ову школску годину проводимо упознавајући се са нашим писмом, културом,традицијом и историјом. Хвала Богу наш род српски има чиме да се поноси и хвали на свим овим пољима да нам је најслађа мука одабрати коју причу испричати дјеци, који крај Србије им дочарати или који обичај презентовати.

Исто тако нас веома радује што предвођени госпођом Маријом Мајер и Елизабет Томас крећемо и са часовима религије који ће нашој дјеци помоћи да упознају нашу вјеру православну још више. Али све наше активности, наша воља, рад и труд би били узалудни да иза нас не стојите сви ви.

Хвала вам свима који активно учестувјете у раду наше школице. Наш највећи поклон су осмијеси и загрљаји ваших малишана.

Нека вам Божићни празници буду благословени, испуњени срећом и радошћу.

Драги наши ђаци сањајте најљепше безбрижне снове и уживајте у свом дјетињству. Нова година нека вам донесе прегршт непрекидног знања.

Вама драги родитељи исто желимо безбрижне и благословене празнике. Да вам сваки дан у идућој години буде проткан љубављу, здрављем и благостањем!
