St. Sava Celebration in Cincinnati
The Feast of Saint Sava was celebrated solemnly in our church.
We thank all of you who came on this day dedicated to Saint Sava and, in joy and unity, celebrated our first Hierarch, Father, and teacher. The great Saint of the Serbian Church, who entrusted us to follow in his footsteps and be worthy to call ourselves Christ’s.
Indeed, a great blessing was poured out on this day, bearing witness to what it means to be a child of the Church and a spiritual child of Saint Sava.
In peace, love, harmony, and joy, the Holy Liturgy was celebrated. All the children received Communion, setting a beautiful example of how to approach the Holy Chalice.
This year’s kumovi, sponsors, Ashley and Dirk Lackovic Van Gorp, along with their children, handed over a portion of the Slava bread to Mirko and Đuka Šebez and their children, who have accepted the honor of being next year’s hosts. Congratulations to our kumovi, and may it be blessed!
We also extend our gratitude to our children, who, with their recitations and program, well taught by their teachers, enriched this feast. Truly, through prayer, they brought glory to the Creator, joy to their parents, and benefit to our Church.
A big thank you to the ladies of our church for the abundant feast and yet another excellently organized celebration.
Once again, we congratulate everyone on the Feast of Saint Sava, wishing that next year we gather in even greater numbers.
